Tetris Didn't Succeed at This Gaming Ceremony — An Additional Classification Might Solve This

As any major awards ceremony approaches, there’s always a demand to include additional classifications to honor underappreciated efforts and delight the spirits of followers who have specialized interests.

A fellow writer has already made advocating for terror-themed awards. That would rule. So would strategy board titles, this being a passionate advocate's mission. But they will have to forgive me for pushing forward because like all dedicated enthusiasts, there's a strong justification backing this proposal stands as crucial and important of all. Here's the proposal: It's essential to create a classification for brain-teasing titles.

Categorizing Game Types

Classifying creative works isn't exact; opinions vary greatly, and typically start arguments and end in fuzzy definitions. This explains why film award organizations don’t do it. Yet it remains an unavoidable compromise for the industry of gaming, that demonstrate such variety they barely qualify a single creative category.

For the full spectrum of achievement in video games to receive acknowledgment, while allowing diverse titles to compete fairly, classification by type becomes crucial.

Existing Game Classification System

Prominent interactive entertainment events currently feature award types recognizing Action, Adventure-action titles, RPG experiences, Fighting, Simulation and strategy titles, plus athletic and racing experiences. Collectively, these six categories successfully include numerous genres, allowing placement for numerous titles.

Different situation exists for logic-based experiences. No suitable classification appears to put them. Examine these examples from recent excellent titles, showing diverse approaches: structural challenges from a specific release, fast-paced pattern recognition in a different title, and the sweetly sociological logic puzzles from additional release. What category would fit them among existing types? Unfortunately, nowhere.

Recognition Challenges

There are dozens excellent brain-teasers launched regularly without proper recognition in entertainment awards, except when they manage to fit award groups including Handheld titles, VR/AR Game, or the intensely contested independent game categories.

  • One classic puzzle game got overlooked in any category that year
  • Another imaginative release was excluded that year
  • Popular arranging title received no acknowledgment recently
  • Limited numbers of puzzle games managed to sneak into niche award types

Importance of Logic Titles

Commonly they're small games, yet the craft of the puzzle game is of massive significance. Well-known matching games count as most popular titles worldwide continuing this trend for many years.

The famous puzzle experience rivals well-known building titles for the title of highest-selling title ever; it’s also in the running for top gaming experience. Logic titles represent cornerstones within interactive entertainment, and they are in conversation with diverse game types.

Recommendation and Reasoning

Logic titles wouldn't face this problem. One could readily select five nominees with fascinating, diverse, deserving games annually without trouble — actually, with challenge, because you’d have to leave numerous deserving experiences.

Restating the point, these are games lacking appropriate categories at major gaming awards. Puzzle game makers operate at the hard edge interactive creation, creating some of most fundamental forms of gaming itself. Similar to film action specialists, they deserve recognition. We shouldn't delay 35 years.
